Collaboratively defining a sustainability vision and decision tool for a garden city
Ebbsfleet, Kent, UK
Teaming up with Weston Williamson, Allies and Morrison and Jott Architekten, Resilience Brokers are helping the Ebbsfleet Development Corporation take the plans for Ebbsfleet Central from central development vision to defining a sustainability vision. We have led stakeholder workshops, translated the client’s board objectives and sustainability standards into a sustainability brief, agreed with the wider project team, created a sustainability compass tool to test and revise the masterplan, and are contributing to a sustainability statement.
The Corporation bought the land known as Ebbsfleet Central around Ebbsfleet International Station. Ebbsfleet Central is strategically located to road and rail networks including a European high-speed rail hub, 17 minutes from Central London and two hours from Paris.
The 125-hectare Ebbsfleet Central will be a dynamic urban centre with a commercial core supported by quality homes, community and cultural facilities, serving the whole Ebbsfleet Garden City area and beyond.
There are currently more than 2,000 homes in Ebbsfleet Garden City with an estimated 4,800 residents. Eventually up to 15,000 homes will be created.
